Faust offers workshops for teachers to help them use drama effectively in their classrooms. We provide practical information, innovative ideas and useful tools to make teaching fun, engaging and inspiring. Our workshops enable teachers to use exercises that boost student’s confidence in oral English as well as target specific topics in the school syllabus.

Below are three examples of workshops on offer for teachers. In addition to these, we can work with your school to tailor-make programmes that meet your teachers’ needs.

THE WARM UP

This workshop will introduce teachers to drama, what it means in practice and the advantages of using it in a classroom. It will share techniques and activities to energise and focus students as well as building a safe, supportive and creative environment. Participants will have plenty of time to put what they learn into practice!

THE DIRECTOR

This workshop will focus on specific drama activities. We will consider the teacher as a Director - how to use role-play, develop line delivery and direct a short piece or poem. It will be an opportunity to learn new things, to develop existing knowledge and to share with others.

THE FUTURE

This workshop will focus on how to integrate drama into the curriculum. We will also look at mini-performances and productions, what is needed to produce these and what areas to focus attention on. We will consider how to use drama as an extra-curricular activity and how to improve performance in speech festivals and other public speaking situations.
